Jose has been building musical instruments his entire life, and his talent is evident in every piece he creates. Having learned his craft from his father and grandfather, he uses old-world methods and tools to create his amazing creations. Jose is well-known in Ecuador as a master luthier and some of South Americas most famous guitarist possess his instruments.

Jose has handed down his craft to his sons, including Santiago Uyaguari who is also a full-time luthier and master in his own right.

The Uyaguari family is synonymous with the village of San Bartolome, Ecuador where they make their home. This small village revolves around the musical instrument business and Jose is their patriarch.
